New Appointments in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Real Estate Services and
Affiliated Law Firm Ambruz and Dark
Prague, 21 September, 2001 - PricewaterhouseCoopers
recently awarded promotions within its Real Estate Services team.
With effect from 1 July 2001, Glen Lonie and Hans van Capelleveen
of the Prague tax team have been appointed to the positions Director
and Manager respectively. Ludvík Juřička has been appointed Manager
of the Brno office of the law firm Ambruz and Dark, the Czech referral
law firm of the PricewaterhouseCoopers-related law firm Landwell.
Glen Lonie is an Australian CA
and holds Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Taxation degrees.
He has worked in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for five years
and specialises in international tax planning and inbound investment
to the Czech Republic. Mr. Lonie recently returned to PricewaterhouseCoopers
in Prague after working for three years as an International Tax
Manager for Bechtel, the world's largest construction contractor,
where he was responsible for projects in Central and Eastern Europe.
Hans van Capelleveen studied economics
at the University of Amsterdam, where he also obtained his postgraduate
degree in auditing. He is a member of the Royal Dutch Institute
of Chartered Accountants and is one of the non-Czech members of
the Czech Chamber of Tax Advisors. He has worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers
in Prague for four years. He currently serves a number of companies
in the real estate sector, including real estate developers, funds
and management companies. He deals with both the structuring of
inbound real estate investments and advising on local Czech tax
issues.
Ludvík Juřička holds Masters degrees
in Geodesy and Cartography from the Technical University in Brno
and in Law from Masaryk University in Brno, and is a member of the
Czech Bar Association. Mr Juřička specializes mainly in civil and
commercial law, especially in real estate and construction law and
corporate law. He has advised on a number of international transactions
in the area of acquisitions and real estate. He is experienced in
real estate transactions, due diligence, proceedings law and legal
transactions regarding investments in the Czech Republic. Ludvík
Juřička is a Czech national fluent in English and Russian and also
speaks German.
PricewaterhouseCoopers recently established a real estate team
within its Assurance and Business Advisory Services department,
headed by Partner Francois Mattelaer and Senior Manager Paul Inman.
These developments are part of the process of further strengthening
PricewaterhouseCoopers' leadership position in the provision of
real estate-related tax, legal and audit services.
Glen said: "We can see clear developments in the level and type
of transactions occurring in the Czech market. Improvement of the
