The New Companies Act Series

December 2005 Parliament passed a legislation package that amounts to a new codification of the Companies Act. At the same time as the act comes into force - on July 1 - a whole raft of new legal norms will take effect. Through this reform process, related regulations will be modified in the fields of insolvency law, commercial law and civil law.

The principle aim of this retooling is to enable companies to quickly and "cheaply" enter the market, bolstering Hungary's competitiveness, but not at the expense of creditor protection.
