Landwell's media & entertainment group has experience in advising a broad range of national and international media and entertainment clients. In particular, members of the group have advised rock groups, musicians, artists, photographers, motion picture companies, and authors in relation to the ownership, protection and exploitation of copyright in works.
On a general level, the group advises clients on all legal and regulatory aspects relating to the music, film, publishing and television sectors. This advice includes issues relating to copyright, recording contracts, book and journal publishing agreements, management agreements and distribution agreements.
The group also works closely with our colleagues in the intellectual property and litigation groups in relation to intellectual property rights claims and protection, and in respect of the defence of defamation claims.
